Ways on how to tune your guitar

TUNING YOUR GUITAR

The most convenient way of tuning your guitar is to buy a tuner. There are lots to choose from. But for me, I personally recommend the clip on tuner because you can use it both for Acoustic and/or Electric guitar.

Having said that, another easy way is to download an app for your iPhone or Android. Just simply go to App Store or Play Store and search for guitar tuner. There are loads of free tuners to choose from.

Standard tuning is always E-A-D-G-B-E and that is starting from the top string to bottom or sometimes called Low E and High E pertaining to the pitch.

If your tuner is a chromatic tuner, meaning it will read whatever notes or key your guitar strings sounds, it will always register in your tuner. There are specific tuners for bass, guitar, ukulele, etc. So, you need to check that the settings of your tuner or the tuner that you bought is intended for guitars.

Always be gentle when you tighten the strings by turning the tuning pegs clockwise or counter clockwise. It might snap. So my advise to you is that when you are trying to turn the tuning peg, also pluck the string for that tuning peg so you can hear and feel if the string is getting tighter. Because sometimes you are turning the wrong peg and plucking the wrong string. Just be mindful so you dont break the string.

If you are unsure of what to do, please don't hesitate to go to your nearest guitar shop and let them show you how to use your newly purchased guitar tuner. Im sure there's always a helpful hand around you.
